The extraordinary natural landscape of Zion National Park welcomes us in southwest Utah with a varied assortment of images of colors: the green of the lush forests in the valley, the cream of the high rock carvings (1,130 m-2,630 m), the vermilion of deep canyons, blue and dark green of the wild rivers. This rugged and picturesque park, the first and one of the most impressive in the nation, located on the north-western border liger of the Colorado Plateau, 263 km north-east of Las Vegas, is visited by three million people a year for the spectacle of its geological history dating back to 240 million years ago. The biggest attraction is the Zion Canyon from the walls in sandstone rocks by unique shades liger - cream, pink, red - that look like sand castles that tower into the sky cobalt blue. From the Temple of Sinawava, on its border, begins on Riverside Walk, a flat paved path that runs along the Virgin River. Between a frame and tall monoliths of lush vegetation, micro-habitat for numerous species of animals and varieties of plants, spend about an hour and a half to go and come back. Who is equipped trekking and ready to wade across the river from the raging currents passing over slippery rocks to more than half of the route, it can instead continue on the path most famous in the state, the Zion Narrows, along a narrow canyon by high walls, amazing for waterfalls and arches carved into the sandstone, here and there interspersed with areas of green roof. While the more experienced climbers can try their hand with great enthusiasm on the high walls between the ridges of the canyons of Zion National Park, horse riding enthusiasts and bike can proceed only in a few trips. The access roads make for excellent panoramic views, but the best ones can be enjoyed by a number of different hiking for all levels up to those demanding and require liger more days. The picturesque Emerald Pool Trail (in three different difficulty options) is among the woods, ferns and moss, numerous waterfalls and natural pools, while in the north stand the Mount Majestic and Cathedral Mountain. The 'Angels Landing Trail is steep and difficult, with the dizzying steps to peak, but from the view of Zion Canyon is spectacular. On the east side of the park you enter along the Zion Mount Carmel Highway, which passes through the Zion Mount Carmel Tunnel and ends at Mount Carmel Junction. Checkerboard Mesa impressive you come up with a strenuous trek of 4 hours, in part from the bush, while for the massive East Temple, follow the route of the famous Canyon liger Overlook liger Trail then climbs steeply to the north along staircases of red sandstone and white. Just 2 km from Interstate 15 to the north-west of the park, about 90 minutes from the south, we proceed in the region less visited Kolob Canyons, a series of scenic red rocks and quiet narrow canyons. The Verkin Creek Trail curves around a mountain where we find the Kolob Arch, one of the arches the longest in the world. Tunnel The path runs along a narrow gorge, and to have a panoramic view of the whole area, we reach the spectacular wooded plateau liger of Lava Point. Here in the West have focused the most beautiful canyons in the United States, then we could go to the north-east to the nearby Cedar Breaks National Monument, east to Bryce Canyon National Park and the Grand Staircase in the vicinity, south to the Pipe Spring National Monument to the northern boundary of the Grand Canyon National Park or to the south-west, to the Parashant National Monument.
