"Nowhere in the world meant more to John Steinbeck than this piece of California, this peninsula of Monterey and Pacific Grove and the slightly hilly area behind, the district surrounding his birthplace Salinas. Where he grew up, where he spent more than half his life, and he recreated it as an almost mythical land of his stories ... Fiction or not, most of Steinbeck's protagonists in Monterey has really existed, and most of the events Cannery Row has also taken place in reality. livigno "
After we had been in San Francisco, it was time to head south to Los Angeles. On the way to Santa Maria where we were to stay, we visited Monterey. It was not long we had on us. Most of the time was spent on the pier where we ate lunch. Very different from when John Steinbeck stayed there. Now tourism is an important source of income. The books I read are books I've bought or books I borrowed from the library. I also write about books that have survived for a while. Some very long. That I have filed crime books for themselves, for convenience, not because I believe that crime is not fiction. Because I am not educated in literature, are posts about books I've read subjective: it is my reading experience I write about. livigno I hope that by reading the blog you get one and another book tips.
